The Tree, Slovenian official Oscar entry 2016, will be presented in the official selection at Leeds International Film Festival. The Tree is an acclaimed and awarded debut feature from the director Sonja Prosenc. You can read more about the film here: “The Tree / Drevo”.
About the festival: “In 1888, the world’s first moving images were created in Leeds. In 1987 the Leeds International Film Festival was founded and has become renowned as a dynamic event with a reputation for challenging and innovative programming. … Leeds International Film Festival (LIFF) is one of the UK’s biggest public film events and the largest in England after London. LIFF is a portal for audiences to discover the real world of film that exists beyond the limitations of mainstream film exhibition. LIFF primarily supports the work of outstanding, fresh new talent in fiction and documentary filmmaking (in both features and shorts) and in world genre cinema – and work from existing talent that has not received deserved exposure in the UK.”
The Tree will be screened on November 6th, 7th and 9th.
